SFBs can communicate simultaneously with up to four other boards, but since boards can connect to other boards which connect to other boards, much larger 'networks' or 'grids' of boards can easily be constructed. The
SFBNet mechanism implemented by Daniel Cannon, and provided by the
Net object in the core software as of version 0.9.18, provides a way to communicate requests and replies between boards addressed not by their relative location, but by the 'services' they require and are able to provide.
