Coders and Quines

Living computation says
pattern-preserving behavior is fundamental,
and models and representations
are derivative from that.

We confuse ourselves by "stopping in the middle" -
   thinking from observation to model,
   from world to mind -
rather than from world to world
via a mind.

But it's an easy mistake to make because
We Are Coders,
and our code transmissions DO
move from mind to mind
via the world. 

Our codebase needs refactoring
to recognize more explicitly
the duality between
coders and quines.
